That is all true. But life has never been about getting what you deserve. The press in this country, though often misguided, serves as a giant educated citizen. Think of all the subversions of democracy that the US has withstood- it was the press that helped to make the citizenry understand. And since the "press" isn't monolithic and is quite uncontrollable, it makes a good surrogate for educated citizens.

"The sad part is that people like that deserve a dictator" I remember having the same conversation with some Brits at the Irish pub in Florence Italy a few years ago. I disagreed vehemently with the Brits, just because the Italians ran during the war does not mean they deserve another dictator.

The sad part is that people like that deserve a dictator. They should be stripped of their voting privilege. The basis of democracy is that learned people listen to the candidates and subsequently cast their vote for the person which best represents their ideals. How can blatant ignorance understand ideals??? How can a democracy flourish when ignorance votes???? Master All I had to do is "push" a little and you demand a dictatorship to shut me up. If you consider your posts and your associates, you will understand why I referred to various posters as "malicious" "evil" "unaware of their posts implication" etc.. If you or they reject freedom for Elian, you have rejected freedom for me.
