Re Dead P/C
Rather than trains, cars, PC is more comparable to a complex media provider...
Newspapers(WRH)
Radio(Marconi))
TV
Telephone(AGB)
Movies (TAE)
Each one of these "inventions" has grown to staggering proportions (300 channels, which we all need(G))
A newspaper cannot show video nor interact
A radio cannot show video
A TV cannot interact- much, yet
A telephone cannot show movies nor create music
And none of the above can design airplanes , control household appliances, run Flying Corps Gold software, access an encyclopedia, show NASA photos on demand ,defend against an enemy attack, search for extraterrestrial life, or keep track of household records.
Listen to Kemble or Mikie on this one, the personal PC is just getting started and it won't be just a Palm Pilot or portable phone....................
TV people are playing catch-up here, trying to go semi-interactive and get on the WEB and so are the wireless phone people. They are far behind and will remain so even if they manage to attach a 19 in monitor and full size keyboard to the wireless phone.
