Here's a question I have for the shorts.
Did you have an opinion or position in QCOM from 1993 to 1998? I ask because it's clear to me *G was a brainchild of Dr. J & Dr. V. Owning QCOM brought me to blows with my professional advisor till I fired her. Maybe I was lucky, but I was right.
If Dr. J invests his money, I'm in. When he's out, I'm out. He's already made me more than I expected in this lifetime. During that time frame, an incredible amount of FUD was spread. His character and his vision was questioned. Big mistake.

IMHO

Tony

Unfortunately, G* is limited to 200 miles of land... so Inmarsat has nothing to worry about. One exception, far North Atlantic (the Titanic Zone).

Brazilian farmers are a larger market than "drill rigs" most of which have frac T-1's for telemetry and SCADA.

One other high growth area targeted by Boeing is inflight internet with those cute Datron tracking antennas.... unfortunately the 9600bps limitation of G* rules them out of that market too....

And about those 7 cent per minute costs ??? According to G* figures, this is for a FULLY LOADED system... so the figure of 850-1100 currently billable phones drives that cost per minute figure into the stratosphere.... more like $435.00 - $710.00 per MINUTE at the present time...

RS - About getting these absolutely agree. I just would have liked to see say $1.50 max inclusive for call charges.

These foregin carriers can charge big money for cellular long dsitance and IDD. Just imagine twenty minutes of call time per day to the US if you were in say Costa Rica or Russia.

Best regards,

L
