INTC didn't catch there mistake until OEM's had already built 300,000 Mother boards ala i840.. Least VIA found there's early.

And we won't even go into Coppermine's 50+ erratta and that doesn't even cover the i820/840 erratta.

Hi Dave B; Re AMD and the Thunderbird motherboard problem. I'm running an Athlon right now, and I don't care whether I can put a Thunderbird or not in it. When I get my next motherboard, it is going to be DDR compatible. The "bad" motherboards work fine with Athlon. Is this really the best that you guys can come up with for an example of an AMD failure? Things must really be sweet for AMD.

Those i820 boards had to be recalled just before a big product ship. And what did they do with those boards, put i819 chipsets in them? No. Intel had to eat them, cause the first Camino was a no go.
