Toothless Shark

?IBM?s financial picture doesn?t seem to get any better, no matter how you look at it. Analysts say IBM sold $155 million worth of enterprise storage products in the first quarter, the third consecutive quarter it has shipped the vaunted Shark enterprise storage system. That?s less than IBM sold in the previous quarter ? not a good sign in a market where rivals such as EMC and Sun Microsystems are posting strong growth numbers. Worse, it?s less than IBM sold in the corresponding quarter a year ago, before Shark surfaced. IBM also is discussing Shark systems in terms of units shipped instead of dollars, which indicates that revenue generated by the man-eaters is something IBM would rather not talk about.?
