Good questions, David. My guess is that MSFT could make a good argument that biometric logon to user profiles is a natural development for the O/S. If it went beyond that to file security, web site password replacement, application or file password caches, etc. they would be clearly stepping over the line. They can't bundle those functions and I/o would have to sell them in competition with IDX. What I do think is that the current legal situation will make it hard for them to play the kind of hardball they are used to, e.g. driving IDX out of business and grabbing big market share for themselves or their partner in the burgeoning biometic/IT market, at least as long as its seem windows is the lever.
