<So, which one are you -- Nobel Prize winner, World Champion, or solo violinist? Or tourist or trainee?>

You did not read carefully. Read one more time:

<.. a consulting company that hired hundreds of engineers from India. They weren't Nobel Prize winners, World Champions, or solo violinists -- they were just your average, run-of-the-mill engineers who wanted to come to the States. Nothing special about them.>

I would not jump into the quick conclusion about
"nothing special". If there would be no problems
with _every_ level of education in the US, there
will be no need to import brains from abroad.
Nothing special... hmmm.. Atiq Raza, Vinod Dham,
Albert Yu... where they come from, I am curious...

BTW, since you are not familiar with the main
rules of your own country (as a country of immigrants),
Nobel Prize winners, World Champions, or solo
violinists are qualified by INS in the most
prefferred category A of "persons with exceptional
abilities in [area]".. About "just your average",
see again my post cited above.
