Oh yes, reckless to allow people freedom isn't it? Why don't we just be really, really safe and turn over all our life energy to the federal government in order for them to invest is safely?

It's basically the same as McCain's idea. You remember him? The guy who would say anything for votes and media attention - just like a Dem?

And such a plan is hardly reckless, at 2%.

I think it would only have to be invested in treasury notes to achieve a superior return to social security.
