I am still of the impression that it is illegal to short your own stock as an insider or even as an employee. The reason I say that is I remeber signing a "conducts agreement " when I worked with an Oil company and it specifically had that clause. It also stated I could not profit from inside info but it talked abit shorting in particular

BUT I have also seen in the paper that insiders have shorted their own stock against options so I dont know the answer

Hi Lizzie,...we are bumping into each other all over the boards tonight.

This insider shorting thing gets the oldtimers all worked up. Most say they have tried it, but the broker says they can't. But you introduce a new wrinkle,...if broker X won't let you, try broker Y. I think you are right,...if you have enough money, and are a good enough client, you can probably do whatever you want.

As far as PFN is concerned,...most insiders and a hell of a lot of us little folks were in below $.40 back last summer. The promotion was on big time at several brokers like Nesbitt Burns back then, for the spec player. I live in a small town of under 50000 souls a few minutes from Sudbury (as the jet flies), and a chitload knew about PFN, and lots were taking a position. I've already indicated to this thread that this play was heavily promoted across Canada, but no one paid attention. Harry Barr does not fool around with his promotion. I went to the Cambridge and Roundup in Vancouver, and the PDAC in Toronto and sat through 6 promotional speeches of PFN in a bit more than 2 months. It is possible the insiders own all the shares they were given under $.40 from 6 months or more ago,...but I somehow doubt it.

I'm not saying there is nothing here worth noting,...I am saying that we rode out the first spec cycle, and must await the next promotional push into the second.

Hope all is well with you.
