Hi all; Reports of Rambus' death have been highly exaggerated: Late this year and into next, the great RAMBUS/DDR debates will begin. Are you so sure Carl? There still are not any DDR based PC's on the market after 4 years of talk.

Re Source for cheap VCRAM, as compared to RDRAM... Tomshardware compares RDRAM to VCRAM, and this has been talked about on the thread. For instance: "Apparently no expense is being spared to produce a benchmarks faster than RDRAM. ... I can't even find virtual memory at Price Watch or any other comparison shopping site." #reply-13823196 jim kelley Here's a link to Kingston memory's ValueRam website, with pricing for various memory types: valueram.com At the moment, 128MB of x64 PC800 RDRAM costs $619. 128MB of P133 VCRAM costs $179. Kingston seems to have a pretty good supply of boutique (i.e. rare and expensive) memory. I bet that they will be among the first to offer DDR, as well.
