david,

i'd like point out what i feel is a small error in a couple of your posts. you are repeating your opinion that many will sell COMS after PALM is distributed, but without some sort of poll, how would you know?

you say, "most people (me included) have said they have no intent to hold COMS after D-Day"

and

"the overwhelming sentiment seems to be that COMS is a worthless stock w/o PALM and that everyone has said they're going to dump it after D-Day"

these are not factual statements, david.

i, for one, intend to hold COMS past distribution and may even add to my position. there are others present who have also stated that they like the future prospects for COMS.

i'm not recommending that we take a poll. just pointing out that your statements appear slanted. however, perhaps a poll wouldn't be such a bad idea.

:)

Thanks for all of your opinions. I do intend to hold COMS until after we get the PALM shares. My problem is exacerbated by the fact that my position in COMS is a large share of my portfolio (not quite 1/2). I bought the second 200 shares (at 82 3/4) when COMS was on its way up to 110+. I held all the way down (like many of us, I'm not a trader, and I never believed the stock would fall this low; after all, how could one if he/she reads this board; isn't there one guy who says he mortgaged the house on this stock? and repeatedly posts messages that conjure up visions of dancing nutcrackers and sugar plum fairies?).

I want to own PALM, and like you David, I'm beginning to think that holding COMS for an indefinite time after spinning off PALM is a wise decision.

Any dissenting opinions? it's important to hear the "other side" of all issues.

Griff

Filter out all the market volatility, COMS should be
trading at 60-80 range if general market (NASDAQ) stays
in bound of 3500-4200. I get this number by assume
PALM to stabelize at low 30 - 40 range, and COMS w/o
PALM worth at least 15/share.

But if NASDAQ resumes its uptrend and big money flows
back to tech, COMS could easily be worth 100 and above.

No matter whichever way you look, buying COMS now is
a click of mouse action:)
