Jim, the graphics card business is usually introduced with huge markups that decays very rapidly with time. The reason why the SDR GeForce are so cheap is because there is a huge performance penalty and 3D power-gamers know that they don't want SDR cards.

The same is probably true for RIMM from DELL since, they want power users to pay through the nose. Whatever they can get away with. In fact, if I was buying any DELL system, I'd buy as little memory as possible and upgrade myself with the cheapest noname 128MB DIMMs (ok RIMMs if I can get them :)) I can get from either the noname clone shops or somewhere reputable online.

JMHO.
