>>I too find that Al Gore was amazing in his ability to recognize the importance of this global communication force years before others. I suppose if the republicans had their way they would have seen it as a playtoy for college students and eliminated the funding so that all americans could get a 33 cent tax cut. Not only was Gore instrumental in transforming the arpanet into the internet, he was by that action one of the founders of this great bull market we have enjoyed.

LOL. AlGore wasn't even in Congress when the internet was created and had nothing to do with the Reagan Bull market that we still enjoy.

AlGore also was wrong on HDTV. AlGore was among that failed band big government politicians known as "Atari" Dems that tried to force spending on analog HDTV, lest the Japanese would take that market.

Well, AlGore was defeated and the taxpayers and US tech won. The Reagan Administration enlisted the likes of George Gilder to show how stupid that AlGore vision was and why digital HDTV was the future.

The Japanese wasted billions on that analog AlGore Jr. scheme and lost it all. Digital TV is here and happening because AlGore lost.
