Yogi,
You have made it quite clear, and I understand your position perfectly; I just happen to disagree, not because of any emotional confusion, but because of a concern over the precedent of declaring our own laws and beliefs null and void because of what you perceive as some higher good. The BONDS of parent and child are NEVER meaningless, regardless of the circumstances, and regardless of what you and others want to believe. I am concerned over the arrogant and unquestioning assumption that we are the morally superior arbiters of the world and are justified in interfering with the rights and decisions of citizens of other countries, just because we question the interpretation of those "rights" or the correctness of the decision. But my main concern is the position that this "morally superior" stance somehow justifies carrying out exactly the same type of action, behaving in the same way, as the people we condemn. This seems like very confused- and dangerous-thinking to me.
And all the ARI propoganda being pasted here isn't making that any more palatable or acceptable.
