John,

The replacement of sdram by rdram is a good move.

The customers probably purchased the 820 with an eventual move to rdram in mind - kid of the raison d'etre for buying the 820.

I still think the financial impacts will be negligible.

I am critical of how long its taken for them to acknowledgethe mth fiasco.

regards,

Kash.

John,

Intel will replace sdram with rdram if that's OK with the customer

I guess it depends on who pays the difference between the cost of SDRAM and RDRAM. If Intel is willing to pay, and if I were the customer, it would be "OK" with me.

Joe

I wonder how this affects Timna/Willy roll-out considering rdram will already be in tight supplies for 2H. I hope "rdram will not limit supplies of Williamette systems" still holds. Intel should comment.
