Bingo!
<Vodafone will be able to sell Globalstar service to Australians without that huge spectrum cost. The cost of a minute [or megabyte] with Globalstar might be cheaper than terrestrial. Cool.>

You hit the nail on the head.
Hypothetical question to operators:
"What do you prefer guys, to pay $15B (10B license + 5B capital cost) for a still to be market proven not fully developed WCDMA technology, or go with an upgradable, scalable, universal (hint:the U in UMTS stands for Universal) QCOM 2.5 G service at..hmm...no cost?"

Lets form a "Convoy" and drive our Tonka trucks all the way to Wall Street on May 29th!

M,
Re your comment >>>>>In case nobody has noticed, Globalstar has got a sky full of spectrum for no charge. <<<<<<<

Are you referring to just Australia or to the whole globe? Has GSTRF paid anything for spectrum in U.S. and Canada?

Find the WSJ comments on the GGMDM absolutely hilarious! Wonder if they also sleep with their head on a copy of Marx & Engels little "Manifesto".

Mac
