Main Points of SSB Report from Albert:

1. AMD is doing very well Internally. Continue printing money.

2. Almost all other Semi guys doing great too, Semi booming circle to continue.

3. Intel has to act rationally on pricing front due to CPU shortage, thus no price war with AMD is expected at least for this year.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, AMD! Thanks again, Albert!

Yougang Xiao,

< From Albert: Good News from yesterday's SSB Conference:

That's a great report. Thanks to Albert for passing it on to you, and to you for posting it here. The following piece (you had already highlighted it in your post) from the report should put at ease some of the concerns expressed on this thread recently -

The upside is coming from the two directions that presented possible roadblocks:

(1) output from the Dresden fab is exceeding expectations, and

(2) the company is getting better "infrastructure" support from chipset and motherboard makers than we had previously forecast.

What I didn't understand clearly was this -

We expect our $1.12 (versus a loss of ($1.10)) is at least $0.05 low for the quarter.

Is AMD saying that the Q2 EPS would be at least $1.17?

PS: AMD price action today has been great so far. I was going to say that every time it reached $84 1/2 - it was hitting a brick wall, but I just noticed that it passed thru $84 1/2 with strong bid size at 84 1/2.

<*In the PC components segment, AMD guided estimates up reflecting greater
optimism about manufacturing and infrastructure>

Cool! I like the bit about infrastructure. Do I hear $2 for the quarter ;-)
