Most of my orders are filled and they do appear on the bid/ask screen. Sometimes, I even get a better price. That does not mean they gave me a good break. It is because 90% of the MM are not posting the real time data as they should. I think the requirement is 10 seconds.

If you have "All of nothing" order, your price will not show up on the screen. I am not sure why.

I am using ETrade to trade options. I am happy with its execution. Now I basically use market orders to trade options. Almost all my orders were executed at the middle of bid and ask. I think ETrade's commission on options are reasonable: $29.95 for < 7 contracts; $39.95 for < 15 contracts.
