Patricia - DSL is the way to go if you can get the service...much more bandwidth...it will not get bogged down by traffic (i too have heard nightmare stories about sub-28.8 access during peak use hours - if, like Mickey most of your access is during school hours cable may work, but for consitency go DSL). also, check out www.freedsl.com you may be able to get it for free.

Call your local cable provider and ask the what speeds they guarantee within your area. I am contractually guaranteed 2Mbytes/sec DL and 256K UL. More than enough for me :)
