Interesting info on FAI. Note the date.

MONTREAL, Canada, May 9 /CNW/ - Future Electronics, a world leader in electronic component distribution, announced today that all of the Company's offices around the globe are fully operational, just as they have been for the past 31 years. On the morning of Friday May 7, the company was informed for the first time by the authorities that they were seeking information in an investigation. No one in the company had any prior knowledge whatsoever of any such investigation. To date Future Electronics has not been provided with any particulars, they are unaware of any wrong doing and are actively pursuing this matter.
``We have cooperated fully with the authorities, they completed their activities and they departed our offices in Montreal, which was the only Future Electronics location visited'' said Robert Miller, President and CEO.
``To date we have not been provided with any particulars.''
In cooperating with the investigation, Future Electronics was required to limit access to some of its computers in its Montreal headquarters. However the company remained fully operational worldwide. ``In view of the situation, we decided to give our Montreal employees the rest of the day off,'' added Mr. Miller.
Although it was business as usual throughout the day Friday, Future Electronics realizes that there may have been inconveniences from its Montreal office to some suppliers, employees and customers. ``We want to thank all those involved for their understanding'' said Miller.
Future Electronics is a world leader in electronic component distribution and is one of the world's largest privately held corporations. Founded in 1968, the company has emerged as one of the most important entities in the electronics distribution industry, and today is recognized around the globe as a world leader in its industry. A Canadian business success story, the company employs over 5,000 employees in 180 offices in over 80 major market centres around the world. This includes more than 1,400 employees in the company's Montreal offices which continue to grow. Future Electronics' web site can be accessed at www.future.ca.

pt,

I believe this would be considered a miscellaneous deduction and only to the extent that the total misc. deductions exceed 2% of your AGI. Probably other limits as well.

I think you are right. I never have enough of them to make them count. But all the deductions seem to go away at some point, and the alternative minimum tax kicks in to screw you anyway.

Sorry, probably no free lunch here.

Oh well.

Joe
