<<It's a bit hard to actually sell phones when the providers and the handset stores in many territories have nver even heard of G* yet.>> This is something that I have posted now and then, L. Since not many others weren't reporting it I thought I must have just experienced a string of anomalies. From time to time I'll pop into a retail outlet as I'm passing by and ask about G*. Almost always results in a puzzled look followed by consultation with the store manager, a shuffle through a store product manual or other literature and, finally, a response that, yes, there is such a thing (I knew that) and that they can get more information if I am interested. Conversation usually wraps up with me telling them about the latest G* developments. They usually seem quite interested in hearing the G* updates from me. They are always very friendly, always very helpful, always professional and would make excellent sales people for the G* phone; IF they were (at least) aware of the product. I'm sure it isn't this way at every location but my small sample has had these fairly consistent results. These stores seem to be staffed with fine people who just don't seem to have been adequately provided with the information they need to service a potential G* customer. It doesn't matter what the product is; if people ask for information and get a puzzled look as an initial response, confidance in the product goes south at lightening speed. G* needs to prove that they are for real. Have a G* live phone in every store to demo a call. So, I continue to wonder; what is being done to build knowledge of the product with potential customers and sales people? If we all asked our neighbors or, at least, those we know who directly comprise G*'s target market, would they know who and what G* was? Will G* be the most amazing communications marvel of the world that most people have never heard of? ..........VVVVVVVVVVVVVV
