kholt, where are "all the people" promoting letting Elian decide on this thread? I thought I was the only one. (But I did miss the earlier posts.)

At 7, I comprehended the issues revolving around my custody.

There were, of course, no precedents of international law to contend with.

The focus, though, should be on the welfare of THIS child. Are you saying that the welfare of the child should be sacrificed for the greater good?
