David, If COMS comes out on the low end of estimates, the street will clobber them unmercifully. If it looks like their wireless, small business/household emphasis strategy has a future, which, unfairly in my opinion, will be judged far too prematurely, then they have a chance for a legitimate turn around in how the Street views them. PALMS on the other hand will be forgiven poor earnings per share numbers as long as revenue growth is real and the transition to a dominant operating system and mobile comms provider company appears doable. I'm happy you view the longer term PALM outlook as I do. I respect your research and reasoning and follow your postings as closely as I can. Luck to us all, Bill

David,

Comments on where COMS will go between now and July 7 are appreciated!!

this question is not from one of your posts, but I think one thing that needs to be included in the COMS/PALM price analysis is the direction of the overall market.

All the news is out and its likely there will not be significant news before 7/7. Normal conditions would induce COMS to move up straight from here towards 7/7. But I think the NAZ will have a lot to say about the price in the next few weeks.

COMS/PALM is like a log floating on the ocean and will get moved around based on the actions of the market. It will come under its own power closer to 7/7.

The NAZ direction has not been positive and it will take some serious interest to move one stock against this trend. The overall market has been reducing the premium for 'new economy' stocks and this may be affecting PALM.

I would hope the PALM valuation would improve post DDay due to its solid fundamentals in addition to its great story.

We have onc more qtr report before 7/7. That should give everyone the data they need to make decisions.

David,

I know there is a restriction on any takeover of "coms" or "palm", due to the tax-free spin-off of "palm" from "coms". The restriction would cause a taxable event for "coms", if the capital restructuring is done too soon - according to the IRS rulings.

Is there, however, any IRS ruling which would prohibit an accumulation of "palm" or "coms" stock? (i.e., a 30-40% stake - not a takeover, but yet a significant position).

I would think that if "nok" or any of the wireless players thought that "palm" was a steal at these prices, that such an event would not be that unlikely.

Appreciate any info. Assuming you have any info on this hypothetical situation. Thanks.
