of course...because despite treasury's protestations to the contrary, i'll eat my hat if Fannie and Freddie debt isn't going to be bailed out by the tax payer if push comes to shove.

Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Federal Home Loan Bank loans are not guaranteed by the federal government. And recently, Treasury made clear that they are not "too large to fail".

Looks more like they just shifted government debt to the nonmarketable debt in Social Security trust fund and the non-interest-bearing accounts
