The greater force for change in Cuba will come from individual americans holidaying there ... a good part of what props up Castro is his ability to paint a false picture of american life in the absence of information to the contrary ... american tourists could provide that contrary, at least those willing to listen to individual cubanos as a trade for getting to preach to them ...

Yes indeed, I am learning more about Argentina and its people by taking to them, more so than I could learn listening to propaganda for/against any particular country.

particularly from the radicales from either side

"The greater force for change in Cuba will come from individual americans holidaying there..." Marcos the average Cuban does not see any difference between a Canadian or a German. That won't make one bit of difference to the guy chopping sugar cane so all the unknown X's can sip mint juleps on the beach.

Castro will pop off to the great gulag in the sky and another thug will take his place. Elian and his father will be deloused from their Capitalist experience. The only thing hanging in the balance is does Cuba turn into another Haiti or a mini-Brasil.
