Jim,

Microprocessor design/architecture skills are derived from years of education and on-the-job training. There is no substitute.

Would you let a high school kid do surgery on you? Why not?

Jim, What do you think of the following?:
(from sgolds on ragingbull)1. When Intel sells the 10,000,001 chipset for RDRAM, then they don't have to sell any more of it, at all, ever.

2. On that day, they will have RMBS patents and there is nothing RMBS will be able to do about it.

3. Intel could be designing a low-cost replacement for RDRAM right now, in advance of that day. (What about that memory consortium which Intel started that RMBS is not attending?)

4. The use of these patents is more significant for future network devices than for DRAM, anyway.

5. When Intel no longer needs RMBS, then RMBS gets hoisted out on their petard!

RMBS sold their birthright for a pot of porridge, and you are so busy admiring the porridge that you don't even recognize that the birthright is gone!

The countdown has started, and ticks away with every Intel RDRAM chipset shipped...
