Doesn't anybody remember the inflation of the 1970's? Now that was real inflation. I don't see any similarities to that whenever I go shopping today. Back then, the nightly news daily consisted of stories on union strikes, and higher food prices, skyrocketing meat prices, high oil prices--if you could even buy gasoline at your local gas station. These were daily stories. Money was tight because wages couldn't keep up with the inflation rate.
