Gene, I mentioned that I had some old IDC data for Dell shipments by family, and here it is (rounded a little)... Family 98Q4 99Q1 99Q2 Dimension 680K 727K 830K Optiplex 1110K 1174K 1333K PowerEdge (server) 70K 81K 104K Precision (ws) 43K 46K 55K Other -------- whatever -------- Total 2315K 2449K 2827K "Other" is almost completely laptop (Inspiron and Latitude) except for 1K to 2K of what IDC called "other". It looks like the Optiplex line is 60ish% of their desktop line. I'd guess that that's because it's the enterprise desktop line and they have such good penetration in corporate accounts. Dave
