I think what everyone is referring to is the link titled

hot subjects
siliconinvestor.com

This used to show a mix of both, but for the past week or so its only shown coffee shop threads. Coffee shop is forum #36

for those of us who have used this feature for the past couple of years, the new functionality is confusing. Why would i look to this page for the mix of both coffee shop threads and the rest of the SI universe?

siliconinvestor.com

If 'hot subjects' now means hot coffee, you should rename the link.

Better yet, allow us to enter the forum id and then give us the hot threads for a particular forum, or hot subjects by forum.

Usability is the issue... When I think hot subjects I think 'give me the list of the hot threads across the whole SI universe'... Instead SI has renamed it to mean

'Hot java'

If you really mean to emphasize that only hot subjects can be found in the coffee shop, then SI will lose its edge as the premiere fiancial stock discussion site.

what will we have then?

I think SI needs to re-think the meaning of 'hot subjects' and make the appropriate changes.
