um, not to be picky, but i would say that strict regulations that limit the ease and availability of voluntary mutually beneficial commercial transactions are anticonsumer. These regulations might stem from labor's political power, traditional family structure (i.e. non-working wives who can shop during business hours), religious politicking, and other factors, and thus have a great deal of inertia behind them (both political and cultural). But one day a hero will rise, and you'll find 24/7 kozmo.com service in Munich as well as Manhattan...

when that will be, I don't know. Nor would I want sauerbraten and oompah-band-music delivered by bike messenger at 3 a.m. But that's another story...
