Intel: Read between the lines

Intel's specification will provide a standard way for authentication devices to interface with the PC in the future, Musinipally said

Isn't Intel a major player in BioAPI?

IMO Intel's proposed BIOS level functionality is what IDX is incorporating into its DFR-300 laptop applications. An Intel driven standard (most probably linked to BioAPI) helps put Identix back in the driver's seat, MSFT in the backseat and I/O software back on the curb.

This should standardize the communication protocol (software hooks) so that Identix's scanners will work with all laptops using Intel's processors without extensive reconfiguration effort to ensure compatibility.
