Dunkelberg: Small Businesses are Raising Prices

William Dunkelberg, chief economist for the National Federation of Independent Business, told The Wall Street Journal, "I don't see any relief on prices the rest of the year."

He noted that large businesses typically have a more difficult time raising prices than small business because of more international competition. Also, small businesses occupy much of the service sector in which labor makes up most of the costs. With the labor market tightening, higher wages are having to be paid in order to attract workers.
