chic, That kind of setup is getting more common. the use of USB allows the port replicators/docking stations to be far cheaper. One thing I would like is to have a hard drive in the docking station to act as a mirror in case of loss or destruction. Some corpnets do this now, but many do not and laptops are the most commonly stolen/lost/broken item of office equipment.
If they get cheaper they will become a huge market segment. right now they are a small, but valuable niche. TI had the idea a few years ago....whatever happenedn to their low cost laptops. used Cyrix chips as I recall. they were quite good, but i think they lost the horsepower/marketing race.
