Thanks again for your support.

The BIOS updates defintely do not mention coppermine. I did send out an email to support. We'll see if I get a response.

I think I will go for a P III 600 (coppermine, if possibile), FC-PGA version with Slotket adapter.

The latter so that if I upgrade to a newer motherboard in the future that CPU will fit. I would like to get a dual processor motherboard at that point. May not be a bad strategy. Do any exist already for P III cpu's?

Thanks again, olga

Look what the cat dragged in. I guess my legend B1S can, unfortunately, not handle a coppermine. Sniff sniff.

jw,

I think some of the motherboards out today are not compatible with the new coppermines. Fwiw, my old Abit BH6 motherboard was not able to support them which was part of the reason I upgraded to the new Asus P3V4X. Which by the way ROCKS!!! I have the new CuMine PIII-600E w/ cB0 stepping running at 900Mhz (6.0 cpu multiplier x 150Mhz bus). When I finally get my vid card, I'll throw up a webpage detailing all the benchmarks and specs. Btw, thanks for the ASUS links. Lots of good info!!!

--- Do the BH6 Rev. 1.00, 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, etc. and up (BUT NOT 1.1 and above) boards and the BX6 Rev 1.00, 1.01, 1.02, etc. (BUT NOT BX6 Rev 2.0) boards support Coppermine CPUs?
No, the BH6 Rev. 1.00, 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, etc. and up (BUT NOT 1.1 and above) boards and the BX6 Rev 1.00, 1.01, 1.02, etc. (BUT NOT BX6 Rev 2.0) do not support Coppermine CPUs due to the native design of power for the CPU core voltage probably not being sufficient. So to avoid instability, we advise that the afore mentioned boards do not support Coppermine CPUs.

Yes, I'm sure the MoBo will accept either.
