I agree with you. Chinese economy is in recession, and will continue for a while. But I think the Communist regime is very stable. Without any challenger, the communist leadship will retain power for a very long period. The potential social upheaval, if there is any, will be in very small scale. We won't see anything close to 1989 demonstration. China is a very different country comparing with US or Europe. The majority in China view Taiwan as part of China, same as a lot of people in Taiwan.

More than 80% of Chinese live in countryside. And they are used to communist propaganda.
