Charles - I suppose I could go and dig up the sources - but I went through that drill a few months ago and I don't think anyone was converted. In any event those numbers are pretty commonly known and accepted in the industry, and people I know inside SUNW don't dispute them - at least in private.

I also doubt that there will be a rush to buy mainframes to run Linux - it is a "stunt", but a good one.

Still, with the number of things that SUNW customers are expected to overlook - higher prices, lower performance, average reliability... sooner or later it will begin to affect things. I don't think SUNW will sit around while that happens, but reading the hoo-hah responses on the thread, you might think the problems don't exist.
