Hitsgalore.com No. 1 `NoPorn' On Search Engine List Hitsgalore Seeks Investor Support For Family/Business Values Stance RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 2000-- Hitsgalore.com, Inc. (OTC BB: HITTE), a rapidly growing business-to-business (B2B) Internet company, declared today that its search engine site, www.hitsgalore.com, is the highest ranked `pornography free' search engine in WorldHot's list of the "World's Hottest 100 Search Web Sites" accessible at www.worldhot.com/world/search_engine/.
"To put it bluntly, push aside all those search engines profiting from pornography, and we rise to the top of the list," says Dorian Reed, Chairman of Hitsgalore.com. "The WorldHot list includes the likes of Yahoo, AltaVista and AOL Search, so in one sense we are proud to be in that prestigious company. But we are the highest on the list that does not promote pornographic material or allow links to pornographic material. That is an all-important factor that WorldHot did not consider when they made the list."
"I think some credit is due for the fact that we are competing for recognition and dollars against companies that are gaining significantly from porn income while we not only avoid porn but are expending resources to eliminate it," adds Reed. "And I'm no newcomer to this cause. For over two years we have worked hard building our company against powerful competition - but we have never taken the easy, pornography route to success."
"Lots of people today invest with a conscience. They demand performance, sure, but they don't want profit `at any cost'. We are acting on that principle in blocking porn and want likeminded investors to know what we are up against," says Reed.
Hitsgalore notifies all prospective clients of the company's `no porn' policy in the application stage. The company then screens further to eliminate porn added later to its existing sites by employing word algorithmic screening programs to detect pornographic content. Customers must then remove the objectionable material or be removed from the Hitsgalore site.
Hitsgalore.com does not even allow its sites to use the dodge of an "Under Eighteen, Do Not Enter" disclaimer. "That `Porn Alert or Porn Option' button," as Reed calls it, "attracts more than it discourages. Kids zoom in on that so called `filter' like it's a neon sign. And kids worldwide are, in my opinion, a major focus and victims of Internet porn."
Reed's view is supported, for example, by a recent survey of students in Singapore. Three in 10 student Internet users in Singapore who took part in the survey have visited sex sites on the Internet, and ten percent are regular users, according to a Nanyang Technological University survey on "Cyberporn and Censorship" reported in Channel NewsAsia, Singapore News on May 10, 2000. The survey found that eight of ten of the students who use the Net have met people who ask them for phone numbers, say offensive things or pretend to be someone else.
Hitsgalore.com ranks forty-second on the WorldHot list of sites ranked according to numbers of hits. Thirty-three of the forty-one sites listed ahead of Hitsgalore contain porn or have easy links to porn sites. Three of the sites ranked ahead of Hitsgalore are international and could not be accessed to be evaluated for porn content. Those are number 26, Sina.com (Chinese); number 29, Goo (Japan); and number 30, Sohu.com, (Chinese).
The following five sites that ranked ahead of Hitsgalore.com on the WorldHot list do not feature porn; number 40, ditto.com, offers a gallery of photographs (not porn); number 39, Suite 101.com, offers articles on art history, culture and music; number 35, Boat Trader Online, trades boats; number 34, Pronet, offers Internet access, domain name registration, etc.; number 6, Inktomi, offers scalable software applications for Internet media companies. These companies do not compete with Hitsgalore.com, but we are pleased to recognize them for succeeding without pornography.
"We are foregoing all the enormous income changing hands over porn." continues Reed. "And, believe me, I know the enormity and temptation of that cash flow. Each month we at Hitsgalore add between 800 and 1000 customers to our site, but we turn away between 18,000 and 20,000. Yes, thousands! Over ninety percent of those seeking sites want to set up porn opportunities. That is how big the demand for porn is on the Web."
"But don't get me wrong," concludes Reed. Being anti porn does not mean we are, for example, a religion site. We are a secular, business site. But I do want my own children to have a porn free search site, that is true. And I would be personally embarrassed if my kids or their friends found porn on a site for which I'm responsible. That's true too. My site is a business to business (B2B) site, so my objection to porn on Hitsgalore.com is based on the fact that I see no place for porn in business. The businessmen I talk to every day feel the same way."

A little crosses and crufixes on the website might change the look. Jim Baker could be a celebrity endorser. "All religions all the time" could be the business model (after they get their 90% cut of course). Someone should ask Bob Sims to put the stock price on the thread. I see it was down only 20% today. Could have been worse expect for the saving press release. I like those risk factors. Sounds like the intro to "Why you shouldn't gamble on penny stocks." Site does have its share of obscure stock tips hustles, mail order physcription drug that are delivered discreetly to your door, nude photography and sculpture, bounty hunters reward sites, online gun auctions, and an overflow of results if "millionaire" is typed.
