Marshall,

These are good questions, and I'll be checking to see what TC has to say.

Thomas a question for you, actually 2: Do you make your decision on a MA crossover or MA match? Is it enough if the 2 averages are equal or does one have to be greater?

It's been my own experience that the moment of "matching" is just that... a moment. Unless you're watching RT and all the time (which I believe you do) that moment would be hard to catch. I've also seen, just as you have, that the MAs can switch back and forth some of the time prior to an actual crossover.

One of the things I remember in a seminar I took years ago on the use of Stochastics was the moment of a shift in direction. George Lane (daddy of Stochastic) called it a "Hook". That was the first break in the direction of S prior to it making a crossover. I believe the same logic can be applied to MAs for a jump start on a trade.

Marshall,

Thanks for the info on JDSU.

I check the charts only every hour...and sometimes not even that. Occasionally I have stretches during the day when I can keep them up on my screen and glance at them more frequently. But mostly I just take a quick look. The decision is quick: either hold the present position or enter a new trade. Very rarely I see a "match", but normally I would hold this until a crossover occured. There are occasions when the MA's will stay equal for a couple of bars while price continues to move favorably...

With DIGL, if it were me, I would wait until the next signal. They come every couple of days...
