Watching NOVL

Short term predictions are always difficult, but I see something on my screen that I have to remark upon.

Over 11,000 Puts were sold at $10 for May. There are very few Calls sold below 10. This indicates that the bias of the writers of Calls and Puts is to take the stock to a close above 10 today.

The implication of selling a Put is that someone is going to deliver the stock to you at that price. So now you have to buy it at 10 with the big bucks. Obviously you wouldn't want to do that as a writer of Puts. So if the stock can close above 10 you don't have to buy anything and the Puts expire worthless.

Looking at the charts accumulation seems to be happening this morning and confirms this analysis.

That seems to indicate that NOVL will finish up by the end of the session today.

QUAD-K published the first of the articles that will start to appear about what Novell is going to do to respond to the revenue situation. The net services strategy for ASP's is just one of many possible initiatives.

It's Time Already....

>>Don,
There are many people who lost significant amounts of money holding NOVL. NOVL was at 40+ in Feb and now is below 10. That's over a 75% loss from the top! The shame is that the company has good products to offer but executed poorly.

It is not enough for Eric Schmidt to acknowledge that the company made tactical errors but has a good strategy. There has to be accountability for the poor performance, starting with Dr. Schmidt. The company needs to announce some radical changes in how it is going to do business. We don't want to know about another great piece of software that is supposed to sell itself because it is so great. If significant changes are not made soon, and the "do nothing" BOD stays on the sidelines doing nothing, then the stockholders should take the initiative. It's time already.

I agree 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000%

Halo or no halo, there is no excuse for the way this company's BOD and leadership has completely, totally, smugly winked and shrugged it's way to this 75% massacre in value.

We have a MAJOR disconnect folks!!

I just hope they aren't out there trying buy the silence of individuals who have shared information and insights on this thread. Anyone has the right to take personal issue with me saying this, but I deeply believe that THE most important reason why the stock has cratered 75% is the destruction of ONE thing which is SO critical to this ONE Vision: TRUST, TRUST, TRUST.

I'd like to see Scott, Kilo and many others who have connections behind this WALLed Street of Distrust do more to show us more evidence that there's REAL guts, values and a stronger leadership to go along with this core vision.

Novell's future does NOT reside INSIDE Novell anymore. The future is in the way people from all over the world come together to create, build, support, grow and develop a much more powerful currency that "goes higher" and transcends any/all internal politics and ties to investment bankers on Wall Street: TRUST.

I'm at the point where I'd like to start talking REAL turkey with ALL the analysts on Wall Street about what needs to be done to support a REAL transformation for Novell.

How about starting with an empowered, radical belief that WE - this community - CAN create, articulate, support, thread and share MORE energy than Novell can using their OLD power/control management methods.

I'm as serious as a heart attack folks. And I don't need to lead this charge. I'm simply a catalyst. Walk all over me. Snicker, wink, do whatever you want. But the truth needs to come out on this disaster.

What about the Ketchup Investigation??

Harmon, if you are serious about potentially lauching this movement among an empowered group of public and private shareholders - inside and outside Novell - I'd be happy to support you in any way shape or form.

Don, are you ready to pull the RUG out from underneath these folks??

Peace.

GO!!

harmonaronson:

I know first hand, and share your concern, about the lost valuations from Feb until now. Fortunately since we continue to own the stock we haven't actually lost any money as of yet.

You will get no argument from me about the lack of execution within the company.

Regarding accountability isn't that what has been occurring? A new COO, new marketing team, new sales organizational structure.

Hopefully over the next several weeks we will get a better picture of the direction Novell is taking.
