Neo,
I haven't looked deeply into this "trade with China" thing but, it appears to me that we have been openly trading with China for quite a few years now. I looked around my workshop, and my wife's kitchen, and at many of the electronics in the house, and I see "made in China" on the vast majority of products that have brand names like, Black & Decker, Sunbeam, Rival, etc. These are supposedly companies that people expect to be "made in America". The most "??fun??" is to read the instruction manuals written and printed in China. If one follows them too closely, it will be instant obsolescence. What will be so different with this new bill??

In many cases, the labor unions are only going to get what they deserve IMO. They have been the cause of a continuous decline in the quality of products and prices beyond reason. Their demands have made it quite difficult for American companies to compete in the world market. I have seen products from Japan, China, and Korea that are of much superior quality than similar ones made in America. The work ethic has gone to pot in many of our industries and the wages for standing on an assembly line, and screwing a few nuts on some bolts, are ridiculously high. I could make a more inflammatory comment here but, will bite my tongue. I can not, yet, say whether I am for, or against, the idea but, it will be interesting to watch it unfold.
