CMRC news.......SAP, Commerce One may have resale deal
By Bloomberg News
May 19, 2000, 6:35 a.m. PT

WALLDORF, Germany--Software maker SAP is expected to announce an agreement that it will resell Commerce One's e-commerce software, according to a report citing people inside the two companies.

SAP and Commerce One could unveil their agreement next week at a SAP customer conference in Berlin, according to The Wall Street Journal. Such an agreement could help SAP make up for lost time, as its e-commerce software, MySAP.com, lagged products by rivals such as Commerce One and Ariba, the paper said.

A SAP spokesman declined to comment on the report but did say the company expects to make a series of announcements at next week's Berlin conference.

SAP close to inking deal with Commerce One - WSJ
NEW YORK, May 19 (Reuters) - SAP AG (NYSE:SAP - news) is close to signing a deal to resell e-commerce software from Commerce One Inc. (NasdaqNM:CMRC - news), people inside the two companies said, according to the Wall Street Journal on Friday.

The move could help SAP grab a larger share of the expanding business in building online marketplaces, the Journal said.

The agreement would allow SAP to resell Commerce One software that designs online sourcing marketplaces for large companies, the Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with the talks. The companies hope to announce a deal next week at SAP's Sapphire customer conference in Berlin, said the paper.

SAP spokesman Herbert Heitmann declined to comment, according to the article. ``This is a rumour,'' he told the Wall Street Journal. Commerce One spokesman Kit Robinson also declined to comment, beyond saying the company both cooperates and competes with SAP, according to the paper.

The two companies would also work to leverage SAP's so-called supply chain products that help companies manage the flow of parts and materials from their suppliers, people familiar with the talks said, according to the article.
