If I may tread ever so lightly across the temporary foot traffic bridge you've extended...

FWIW---it is MY experience in other [read this to be foreign] markets and other times that obfuscating press releases such as we are both referring to in this particular instance [ENEL deal] can result from:

internal pressure from those in the know,
or
pressure from those observing, regulatory types [either geographical jurisdiction] who have received external inquiries of some nature that raise the "level of scrutiny/interest"
which result in the observed company producing these type of half-baked <---my descriptive [your words: "poorly worded"] utterances
in the resulting attempt to comply with some type of "unofficial request" by officials who have gotten wind of something.

I find that correlation between my prior experiences with other stocks in other markets in prior times, and
the quick, almost IMMEDIATE gloating public post on this thread [Wm Peavey] about this ENEL financing announcement being necessary, in this particular wording and timing to prevent news leakage of some type...
...these two events are curiously hooked together in my mind.

I wonder if we will ever know.

Just food for thought. Now, I'll go back across the bridge...
