And that is why there, virtually, no steel business left in the U.S. The labor unions killed it. The same thing has happened to the electronic industry where TVs, stereos, etc. are concerned.

There is steel and there is steel. In some grades, the US steel companies produce the best steel and have the lowest prices of anyone. We have the best technology and the best management in many fields. Check out Nucor, for example, or any of the EAF companies who produce about one-half of the nation's steel. steelnet.org
True, many of the older (non EAF) steel companies are archaic and obsolete, but many of them have been invested in by foreigners and are becoming quite efficient.
