I am mostly a lurker, but I vote for a moderated thread because there is just too many posts to keep up. It is a full-time job to follow a dozen stocks on SI. John

I vote you change the name of the thread to QCOM technology discussion thread and add a rule No posting about price direction I also vote you make it moderated thread but be warn, you could end up ingrown and stale or worse a collection of yes men all deemed worthy by Su. The price of the stock is as important as technology at this point in QCOM's evolution, the very health of the company could depend on it if they want to expand the franchise. But I agree, this thread should be limited to what the posters want it to be. Greg

Ramsey: I am a long time Q holder who always goes to the 500 thread first. With time so limited this thread is invaluable to me and I suspect that is so for a lot of other lurkers. You need to do whatever it takes to keep it true to the original purpose, so my vote is for a moderated thread. Thanks for your work on it.

SURVERY ENDED - OVER 80% PRO MODERATED THREAD BUT NO MODERATED THREAD FOR NOW Since the results of the survey (mainly via PM) was overwhelmingly in favor of a moderated thread, I actually was in the process of starting one before I realized that it does not serve the intended purpose. The moderated thread will exclude individuals completely, which each of us can do easily by just using the "Ignore" feature. Looking back at the last few hundred posts, I only counted 4-5 individuals who I believe would receive unanimous ouster votes. I was under the impression that the moderated thread would give me the ability to, as an example, delete every other posts from Ruffian. Seriously, I thought the moderated feature allows me to get rid of meaningless posts. (isn't that the feature for yahoo clubs?) Oh well, I guess it is back to thread Nazi method for now. I have added one item to the simple thread rules that I think would eliminate a good part of our current problem. Subject 29581
