I understand that, and frankly I think cleaning the diesel should have been done years ago. The oil companies themselves have now said that removing 90% is very doable( so what took them so long?) However, the point I was making was the EPA is insists on 97% removal. I'm saying the oil companies can do 90% without much additional cost, and they are saying that last 7% doesn't amount to much in cleaner air quality, but will add significantly to the processing cost and thus make diesel more expensive.
