. For many of the same reasons WCOM and Sprint will not be approved. Very little competition, right? Other than
SDLI and Corning, JDSU is it.

I see very few similarities between WCOM/Sprint and JDSU/ETEK.

JDSU and ETEK are not service-based companies but developers of technology with huge barriers to entry. If anything, the barriers would give the DOJ some concern.

In order to give substance to your comments, I believe you'll need to break the competition out according to product segment. And, no, those aren't all the competitors. In fact, some competitors are also customers.

It's been a tough couple months for JDSU and I think we could all benefit from an intelligent discussion of the issues.

TIA ---

Pat

You obviously don't know too much about this sector if you think that JDSU and ETEK and SDLI and GLW are the only players...

Your credibility is going down as fast as that bear market you are predicting (correctly....I would add).

And judging by the spread narrowing as it has between the stocks (JDSU and ETEK), the deal is all but assured at this point.
