I'm very interested too...but only if it can do things for us and our system that other, less expensive services (or freebies) cannot. I think the alerts might be found elsehwhere (someone posted about this yesterday). But the backtesting feature is great. At less than half the price of Indigo's package, it makes some sense. MS may just be the ticket we need to find, keep and trade appropriately GREAT stocks for the 5/8 system.

Certainly keep us posted if you give it a try. And if there are other owners of MS out there, let us know what your experiences have been.

And hey, what are you doing up so early on a Saturday? I've been up since 4 (went to bed past 12) after our daughter had a bad dream...couldn't get back to sleep...thinking about this stuff too much.

Here's another software package that looks promising: linnsoft.com $1,000 cost or $49 for a 30 day trial. Also can use eSignal for a real time data feed. It supports a bunch of indicators(http://www.linnsoft.com/tour/masterIndex.htm#Technical Indicators), backtesting (http://www.linnsoft.com/tour/backTesting.htm), and scanning (http://www.linnsoft.com/tour/scans.htm).

Also, we discussed OmniTrader (http://www.nirv.com/omnitrader/) sometime back. I have a demo package sitting here on my desk to try out. Time permitting, I will try to give it a quick evaluation this weekend. I know it supports scanning, but not sure about backtesting.

All of these pointers came from eSignal's partners page: esignal.com

Can Metastock be connected to any other kind of datafeed (like Datek's streaming data...which is free...a la QT?)?
