I've thought for a long time that the worst thing we could do to Fidel would be to restore fully normal trade relations with Cuba.

Yes Jos‚.It Was Rather Damning To The US.

Like Many Other Articles There.

And Placing this much blame squarely on the US without recognising Castro's economic ineptitude was the pendulum swinging in the opposite direction from what we've been accustomed to here from " other sources ".<g>

I found the article thought provoking, none the less, and an interesting point of view from the other end of the spectrum. How accurate the facts and details, are not known to me.

This site has many provocative articles and perspectives that you will find as difficult to relate to as the afore mentioned sites.Yet,does tend to have less sensational-ism ( there's that ism again )than the others and back up much of their positioning with factual data,if you care to scrutinise that data.

The shipping costs are real, but likely well out of proportion with the reality of the argument.Bottom line for me ,as I've stated a number of times,is that the embargo should be given attention from another perspective. One that that says the opening of channels of trade and communication will be the opening of the country to more democratic influences that pull down the veil that Castro has hung around the island through isolation-ism from the embargo .I think we somewhat agree on this point, yes?
