Hi Frank, He had me remove the RJ-45 from the DSL modem, then performed a loop test and 'reprovision'. After that, the line worked until 6am this morning. I called Verio and Covad, and we repeated the exercise. Today's tech said the test indicated excessive voltage when the RJ-45 was disconnected, and will dispatch PacBell Tuesday to fix their line. I don't know what 'reprovisioning' entails, only that it takes about three minutes of fast typing. They are giving me a dial access until the DSL is fixed. petere
