MrBuzz: What you propose sounds an awful lot like competition..."my list is better than yours". Since I've been aboard, 'gemmers tend overwhelmingly to "cooperate", not compete. It didn't take all that long for me to take a look at ideas/trades suggested by SusanG, Kendall Harmon, Small Fry, Janie, Connor26 and the prolific OJ (who's yet to invite me to lunch) and many others. I respectfully give your idea "two toes down"...but other ideas of yours are often quite good. (Lee)

Mr. Buzz

while this is of course an open forum..i'll pass on that idea...totally...

too many stocks by unknown traders are not a good idea...

while we here have the foremost stock screener/ selector i know in Jenna..

why the heck would we be interested in any one else's???...

it has taken Jenna 3-4 years to perfect her scans...i trust them implicitly because of Market Gems Results...

and so has Wall Street...Jenna is well known as one of the finest stock traders/pickers anywhere...

while i have no problem if someone wants to bring his or her stock ideas here...i think it should be qualified first...who's the person, and why buy it..and please don;t give me a news item..it's only good for a pop if that...talk technically, fine..otherwise forget it...

others here have continuously talked about other sites and their picks..."after the fact"..not good enough for my money..not interested one bit...we here do it real time almost to the actual trade..if that can't be done by others..then forget it...

my point is smaller is much better..everyone should begin to narrow down their scope of stocks, to be able to KNOW them better..and to trade them better...

there is a constant barrage of stock ideas brought here after people try to "FRONT RUN THEM"...THEY BUY THEM FIRST AND BRING THEM HERE HOPING TO GET A BOOST BY ALL THE LURKERS AND TRADERS HERE..

it doesn't work..we here know all theses assholes...and, on the flip side of the coin..we also know our friends too...

so it's my contention, to slow down the assault of stock ideas...concentrate on the Watch List and Earnings Plays, and keep those list's running for days into weeks...and lets collectively keep up with anything that will aid those stocks...

heck those lists are way more than anyone would ever need to look at...too much, is too much...concentration is better..

OJ

Too many picks are dilutive. This is the Market Gems thread and although new picks are always welcome, we will stick with the past focus of this forum. Most traders will be making lists but not calling trades in a timely manner or showing technical/fundamental reasons for these choices. Our choices are based on the Market Gems guidelines and Techno-Fundamental Analysis. Too many threads have already strayed from the thread topic delineated in the introduction to the thead.

Other traders will be calling 'news' stocks hours when most of the run up was already in the first 1/2 - 1 hour hour of trading and that will be confusing.

Fortunately, although this is a free forum but because of the popularity of the thread, I might be considering turning the Market Gems Forum into a "Moderated" forum or add another adjunct to this forum for our subscribers and regulars. This is part of the new privileges and features offered by Silicon Investor management.

There is no reason that some posters with great ideas should not begin their own threads. That way the new thread would reflect the new focus, subject and strategies of that moderator.
